Hiking and biking trails around the campsite
Bike rides from Carcans to Lacanau
More than 150 km of bicycle paths link Lacanau, Carcans, Hourtin, all on 3000 km² of pine forest. 3 “discovery routes” can help you to become truly aware of this somewhat wild nature:
- The ” Genêts loop ” -11 km or 1h00 approx.
- The ” Cavalles loop ” – 15 km or 1h15 approx.
- The ” Genêts loop ” -17 km or 1h30 approx.
You can follow them by bike of course but also by jogging or walking with your pet.
Family walks, in complete safety in a peaceful and preserved environment
Off the bike paths, the forest can be discovered off the beaten track along the paths, “fire roads” paved with stones or covered with sand. There, you will certainly have the opportunity to cross the run of a hare, a partridge or a pheasant and if luck is with you in the morning at daybreak, a roe deer will approach, maybe wild boars in company or a stag and its impressive antlers. Don’t move, they will run away with vivacity and elegance… Depending on the weather and the season, the edges of the forest will offer you tasty porcini mushrooms or girolles with a bright orange color on the dark ground.
Discover also the lake of Carcans-Hourtin for a great walk around the lake with its 150 km of cycle tracks and enjoy a break in the exceptional setting of a cove for a swim, a picnic or beach games in the sun.
